A strategic storytelling & media lab for innovative leaders.

SAP: CoCreative

In my consulting, I work with thought leaders, nonprofits, and brands as a story and strategy partner. I bring my background in film, theology, and media to help you shape a narrative that people can actually feel — on the page, on screen, and in the room.

Whether we’re clarifying your public voice, launching a podcast, or translating research into something legible and compelling, the goal is the same: to distill complex ideas into human stories with just enough imagination to stick.

Secret Art Project and SAP: CoCreative are both anchored in the same belief: creative storytelling changes what people can imagine and believe is possible.

An infusion of radical creativity and authenticity for your project or brand

When You Need a Narrative Partner

  • I refine your voice and craft copy that sounds like you while speaking clearly to the people you’re trying to reach.

  • I provide creative direction, collaborating with designers, producers, and editors to bring your message to life across media.

  • I offer fractional CCO (Chief Creative Officer) support for consulting and thought-leadership brands who need a steady creative brain in the mix.

  • I assess your current messaging and impact, then offer clear, practical recommendations.

When Your Grant Needs a Story

  • I help you design public engagement plans that feel alive, not perfunctory — so your project reaches the people it’s meant to serve.

  • I write or edit proposals, reports, and final deliverables with an eye toward both funder expectations and real-world audiences.

  • I translate complex research into narratives that make sense to non-experts without losing nuance.

  • I navigate the language of multiple worlds — arts, sciences, theology, and the humanities — so interdisciplinary work doesn’t get lost in jargon.

When Your Ideas Need a Media Ecosystem

  • I advise on launching or evolving podcasts and digital series, from concept and format to tone and workflow.

  • I produce or co-produce video and audio content that amplifies your work in a way that feels aligned with your values and personality.

  • I help you create and curate editorial content for blogs, newsletters, and campaigns so each piece builds on the larger story.

  • I develop content strategies that prioritize depth and relationship over empty metrics.

Hi, I’m Sarey.

I’m the founder of SAP: CoCreative and Secret Art Project. I’ve worked across entertainment, academia, and the nonprofit world — translating research into compelling stories, shaping public engagement initiatives, and crafting media that sparks real conversation. As a filmmaker, I’m drawn to liminal spaces: faith and doubt, beauty and dread, the seen and the unseen. As a consultant, I bring that same sensitivity to tone, image, and emotional truth into the strategy room.

I have roots in Los Angeles and Portland. After a decade in the music and film industries, I earned a master’s degree and moved into the grant world. I’m both an artist and an entrepreneur, which means I think in terms of scenes, stakes, and structure as much as deliverables and deadlines.

Media Production

I’ve produced and directed dozens of educational, explainer, interview, and promotional videos for clients and partners — bringing the same cinematic eye I use in my narrative films to real-world ideas and stories.

For details about this type of content or for more examples of what’s possible for your project, email me.

In the example above, I partnered with animator Matthew Halbert-Howen to create a short piece for Dr. Brandon Vaidyanathan, drawing on a rushed, lo-fi interview with Dr. Charles Taylor at a symposium. Through careful editing and visual storytelling, we turned that raw footage into a poetic exploration of his book Cosmic Connections: Poetry in the Age of Disenchantment.

I want to hear about your projects and goals.
